Yellow Belt Course Description

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Course Description

The Yellow Belt course takes you through the basic DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) framework and problem solving process. You will begin to build a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) toolkit that will help you both in your job and in discussions about cost saving projects.

You will learn about waste and variation, why they are a problem in an organization and how to reduce them.

The specific learning objectives are designed to help you to not only become aware of LSS, but also to become familiar with the practical application of the tools you’ll learn about.

During the Yellow Belt workshop, you’ll learn several basic tools which are the foundations of any successful DMAIC project.  These tools include the following:

  • Project Charters
  • Voice of the Customer
  • Process Maps
  • Histograms
  • Run Charts
  • Paretos
  • Control Charts
  • Brainstorming
  • Eight Wastes
  • Cause and Effect Diagram
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Five S
  • Control Plans

Not all these tools are used when solving a problem and there are many other tools not mentioned that may also be appropriate for a specific business problem.
